Dr. Nyamondo Financial Award for Pharmacy and Life Sciences

The International College at Robert Gordon University (ICRGU) is delighted to announce the launch of the Dr. Nyamondo Award for Pharmacy and Life Sciences, offering an ambitious student the opportunity to receive a £3,000 financial award towards tuition at ICRGU. This award is specifically for individuals from East and South Africa who aspire to pursue studies, and subsequently a career, in Pharmacy and/or Life Sciences.

This scholarship is inspired by the remarkable achievements of one of our distinguished alumni, Dr. Kudzai Nyamondo. Kudzai began her academic journey with ICRGU in 2013, enrolling on the BSc (Hons) Bioscience with Biomedical Science programme. Her passion and dedication culminated in the attainment of a first-class degree from Robert Gordon University.

Originally from Zimbabwe, Kudzai’s personal connection to cancer science was ignited by her brother’s battle with the disease at a young age. This poignant experience fuelled her determination to make a positive impact, leading her to pursue advanced studies in Clinical Pharmacology in Scotland and ultimately earn a PhD in Cancer Science.

We take immense pride in announcing that Dr. Nyamondo is now a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Wellcome Sanger Institute in Cambridge, focusing on blood cancer and its trajectory through DNA analysis. Her journey serves as inspiration for aspiring individuals to make meaningful contributions in their chosen fields.

The establishment of this scholarship reflects our commitment to nurturing future leaders in Pharmacy and Life Sciences. It aims to provide talented individuals from East and South Africa with an opportunity to follow in Dr. Nyamondo’s footsteps and use their skills to create positive change.
