By offering a dynamic combination of accounting, finance and management subjects, with the opportunity for a year long, salaried placement in their third year of studies, the university has developed a course that is truly effective for the accountancy and finance profession of today.

This course is fully accredited by Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and students can also qualify for up to 8 exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Exemptions are also given by Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Graduates have fantastic career prospects within this field and are often in great demand from employers, including the major accountancy firms, multinational companies in a wide range of industry sectors, investment fund managers and banks.

Credit-bearing internship in Year 3

Unique in Scotland to Robert Gordon University, the 48 week internship in third year is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain practical, professional experience in an accounting or finance position.

Students earn a salary during this year and pay reduced course fees. Students are fully supported to find an internship in the UK, and will be offered CV advice and mock job interviews.

This is an excellent chance to build a strong knowledge base, and increase contacts and networking opportunities that can help future career prospects. Throughout this credit-bearing placement, students must also continue developing their academic knowledge with two carefully developed modules.
